In addition to the launch of the new Facebook game Webkinz Friends last week, Ganz has quietly launched Tail Towns as Tail Towns Friends on Facebook! We’ve briefly played Tail Towns Friends and, while Webkinz Friends is free-style play type of “Ville game” on Facebook, Tail Towns Friends has more directed quests with a storyline in Tail Towns.

Users have been waiting more than a year since the original projected launch of Tail Towns, and it is finally here! Since it was re-tooled as a Facebook game, rather than in Unity3D, it appears that the figurines that were originally shown to retailers and consumers will not be used for the game.

We’re excited that Ganz has released two brand-new games in a week, and it looks like it’s going to be a big year for the company and for us here at Tail Towns Insiders and Webkinz Insider! We’ll need your help in our Tail Towns Friends Forum and in developing sections in our Tail Towns Friends Wiki with the new game. Let’s have some fun!

Ever since the launch of Ganz’s Tail Towns was delayed, many of you have been asking whether Ganz would at least hit their original target window for the activation of figurines, between April 4th – April 16th. Unfortunately, it appears that this will not be the case.

We’ve just heard from Robert, at our partner store Ameriwade.Com, who told us that Ganz had notified him that shipments of figurines to retailers are being held back until Ganz can finish rebuilding the Tail Towns game. Hopefully you pre-ordered Tail Towns figurines from a reputable retailer like Ameriwade that only charges you once they ship you the merchandise! If not, make sure to buy Tail Towns figurines from Ameriwade.Com in the future!

We understand that, as Tail Towns neared the beta launch, Ganz discovered a major issue and is working feverishly to correct it. Let’s try and stay positive and hope that the reward is worth the wait!

Since the originally announced launch date for Tail Towns has come and gone, new details about this amazing world have been hard to come by.  Today we are pleased to bring you the news that Ganz has released a new online “commercial” for Tail Towns.

Ganz revealed the commercial/promotional video by sending out e-mail messages to potential players who had signed up to receive updates.  Most of the information about Tail Towns that is revealed in the video clip was already known, but some of the in-game images are being shown for the very first time.

One “new” bit of news revealed in the video is that figure codes will be available for sale through the Ganz eStore, and not just through local retailers, and that the online currency is now called “acorns”. Remember, you don’t need a figure code to access Tail Towns as a “tourist”.  You’ll just need a code to have your own “estate”.

Late last night, Ganz added the above update to the Ganz retailers site to let all of the Tail Towns dealers know that there are delays for the launch of Tail Towns. They also did not provide an ETA for retailers, so we’re still following all avenues to find the information that you need — we’ll just have to wait and see!

Ganz Preparing Tail Towns News Website!

While checking for any other Tail Towns information, since the launch has been officially delayed, I took a look at Ganz’s new GanzWorld.Com portal and saw that they’ve added Tail Towns to the portal with a “Coming Soon” button on it.

In addition, they’ve added a spot for Tail Towns News, which will likely be similar to their current Webkinz Newz site.

Unfortunately, the Tail Towns News site isn’t currently active (it’s also listed as “Coming Soon”), so we don’t have any additional news about the launch, but it gives us a place to check in the future!

Good morning, everyone! As you may have read yesterday, we were speculating that a tweet from various Ganz sources indicated a possible delay for Tail Towns launch today. In a conversation that I had last night with the Webkinz Creative Director at Ganz, I was told that the Tail Towns launch has officially been delayed.

Unfortunately, the new virtual world from Ganz isn’t ready for a production release and Ganz has been forced to push the launch of Tail Towns to a later date. I was unable to get a commitment for the future launch date, but stay tuned to Tail Towns Insiders for more information!

Well everyone, today’s the day that we’ve all been waiting for — International Women’s Day! Ganz chose this day (March 8th) specially for the official launch of Tail Towns and we’re all anxiously awaiting changes to the Tail Towns website!

As you all know, the launch today will not allow anyone to enter any of the Tail Towns Figurines codes (Ganz hasn’t shipped them yet), but we’ll all be able to play for free to see if we like it. We may also see beta-testers’ access, but we can’t confirm that at this point. If you haven’t already signed up to participate in the beta, find out about Founder Beta Access to Tail Towns.

The staff here at Tail Towns Insiders can’t wait to check out the new world so we can style our site to compliment this new offering from Ganz. Get ready everyone!

Possible Delays for Tail Towns Launch?

As most of you know by now, Tail Towns is supposed to launch tomorrow, March 8th.

A few minutes ago, various official Ganz Twitter accounts sent out the following tweet — “The Tail Towns team is spending extra time to get the beautiful new 3D world just right for you and your friends. Stay tuned for updates!”

Do you think “extra time” means a delayed launch?

We’ve got some great news! Robert, from our partner store, Ameriwade.Com has begun taking pre-orders for Tail Towns figurines! He’s told us that he’s been getting conflicting ship dates from Ganz, so he can only give an estimate of when they’ll be shipped to you, which is now listed to be between April 4th and April 16th.

If you remember from our previous article, Ganz is launching Tail Towns on March 8th as a free-to-play and is going to be waiting about a month (sometime during the April 4th -April 16th window) before opening Tail Towns up to allow users to enter their Tail Towns codes.

If you’re looking to buy Tail Towns figurines, Ameriwade is the place. Robert has chosen to price the figurines at the lowest price we’ve seen, $12.99 each! If you’re interested in the whole set of 12, you can get them all for $144.99. The supply given to retailers is very limited, so order while you can.

Your credit card will be charged when Ameriwade ships the Tail Towns figurines, rather than when you place your order. Visit Ameriwade.Com now and place your order, as a portion of each sale goes to help out Tail Towns Insiders!
